Innovation with function
Franke releases its new fully automatic coffee system models for 2010

Franke Coffee Systems are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of professional, fully automatic coffee systems. They have introduced a number of newly developed products and features which, they believe, enables them to propose any solution for QSR markets, corporate, hospitality, hotel, franchise, workplace or any restaurant business, that requires the highest standards in quality coffee preparation.
A host of newly designed models for 2010 from this innovative company are leading the way and really showing the coffee world just what Franke has to offer. From the Pura fresco and pronto, to the Evolution Plus Foam Master and the Spectra Foam Master, the company has aimed to dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s and present a range of products to the market that are both innovative and functional.
Foam Master
With the focus on milk quality, the Foam Master allows the desired consistency of the milk foam to be individually programmed with this fully automatic system. This new innovation is available on the Evolution Plus, with The Spectra to follow - only 60cm wide with 10 litre fridge.
A Cappuccino is produced with milk foam of latte art quality, and when frothing the milk for a latte macchiato, different qualities of milk foam can be produced for the same drink. This enables the creation of perfect layers of milk, milk foam and coffee. It means unlimited options when creating new coffee and milk beverages. Milk is heated more quickly than by hand, thanks to the Milk+Foam System. This is all achieved by the electronically controlled air valve, which adjusts automatically to each programmed drink. In the past, all air plugs or foaming blocks, had a preset diameter, which couldn’t be altered; now the Franke Foam Master changes these traditional rules. With the Evolution Plus large quantities of milk and milk foam can be dispensed into the cup or glass in record time. The Spectra Foam master also has a hidden secret. It allows the production of cold milk foam in different qualities. Innovative coffee creations, such as Mojito Iced Macchiato can be produced at the push of a button.
UKE Refrigeration
Franke is also unveiling their new refrigeration unit with a convenient 5-litre milk container (alternatively, two 2.5-litre containers for 2 milk types) fitted underneath the coffee system. The refrigeration unit is placed just below the coffee machine, allowing for an impressive 32cm foot print when utilised with the Franke Evolution, Spectra or Pura range of coffee machines. The machine is cleaned using the cleaning and sanitising programme, Clean+Clever. Like all Franke milk systems, this innovation also complies with HACCP requirements. The new refrigeration unit represents a perfect alternative to existing milk supplied systems whenever space is limited.
The Pura Range
Franke Coffee Systems will shortly be complemented by the introduction of The Pura fresco & pronto. The Pura range is supplied as standard, with two grinders, two boilers, four hoppers, hot chocolate and capacity for 32 drink selections from its innovative touch screen. It allows for fresh or powdered milk and twin milk dispensing with plumbed or unplumbed versions available.
Pura hoppers can only be unlocked when the door is opened and the brewing system can be removed in 10 seconds, with the dosage chamber having no moving parts. It adds up to low maintenance costs.
The Pura fresco can be supplied with refrigeration or cooler systems as well as offering multiple product selections such as premium coffee, decaf or hot chocolate and chai, all at the touch of a button and all with fresh milk. The coloured display in the form of text and symbols greatly simplifies both product selection, cleaning and maintenance of the machine. The hoppers can be removed without having to manually close doors to stop product from falling out. Given the Pura pronto and fresco modular design, the operator can remove the brewing unit, dosage chamber or dispensing outlet themselves, saving on service costs. Clear step-by-step cleaning instructions, which visually show which component has to be removed or cleaned add to the Pura’s simple yet functional design and quality.
Flavour Station
Available with the Spectra S and Evolution Plus, this is simply put, syrup at the touch of a button. It makes a myriad of flavoured coffee varieties possible. In this way, coffee and milk specialities can simply be mixed with different syrup flavours. Pressing the required syrup flavour adds the syrup to the cup through combined coffee-milk-syrup outlets. Differently shaped bottles can be connected, including alcoholic beverages, alongside the numerous syrup varieties. For the Spectra S CF is only a 20cm wide add-on unit, with up to three syrup bottles connected. The pumps transfer the syrup to the dispensing head, with the pump never coming into direct contact with the syrup. The Spectra is equipped with the Vetro 16 display panel, allowing for 48 different types of coffee, coffee-milk or mixed beverages using syrup.
The Evolution Plus Flavour Station is larger than the Spectra, however this allows the customer a greater number if syrup selections.
Add-on solutions
Another innovation is the Chill & Cup - an add-on for the Evolution, Spectra, Sinfonia or Pura lines. The unit consists of a refrigeration unit with a convenient 5-litre milk container or two 2.5 litre containers for 2 milk types, with the combined cup warmer for 120 cups. It is ideal for customers with limited space. There are a number of alternative fridge configurations to suit every need; from the UKE (under machine refrigeration) Chill & Cup, 6 & 10 litre side fridges, MUT (under bench fridges) and the ability to offer two milk types.

The Spectra modular design of the Spectra series has enabled Franke to develop the Spectra X, the 32cm brewing system, which delivers 300 cups per hour. Or there is the optional Spectra Touch Screen, which allows the customer to advertise their services while allowing for more efficient service and PM scheduling, with modular components interchangeable. This means the coffee system is operational for longer periods. The Evolution Plus and Spectra series have optional hot chocolate, combined with their Foam Master capabilities.
