Australia makes World Coffee Championship Finals

Sensory Lab’s Ben Morrow and Grinders Coffee’s Shae Macnamara have both made the finals of their respective coffee championship events in Shanghai, China.

Ben will represent Australia in the Final Round of the World Latte Art Championship (WLAC) on 1 April, after passing the Art Bar round with his Hungry Hummingbird design, and then the preliminary round.

Single Origin Roasters has launched a new training and education facility in South Brisbane.

The new facility, dubbed ’The O Post’, officially opened on 21 March. It is the coffee roaster’s first flagship venue into Queensland, with three other café operations in New South Wales, including Surry Hills, Sydney CBD, and Roast Works in Botany.

Georgina Lumb of Patio Coffee Roasters wins Australian AeroPress Championship

On the morning of 17 March, Georgina Lumb went to work at Patio Coffee Roasters in Adelaide a Training Manager. That evening, she left Proud Mary Coffee Roasters in Melbourne as the Australian AeroPress Champion.

The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) is currently underway at the Melbourne Showgrounds, with the presentation of the 2016 Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Coffee Champions taking place on 19 March.

The presentation of the Australian Coffee In Good Spirits, Pura Latte Art, Huhtamaki Cup Tasters Championship and Brewer’s Cup will take place on the ASCA stage in the Grand Pavillion at 3pm on Saturday following the final of the Australian Barista Championship.
