Women in Coffee united on 30 June to celebrate and network with likeminded industry women.

Knight Mattingly Coffee Roasters and Three Sixty Espresso Academy hosted the evening event on 30 June, which took place at the Locale Lab in Abbotsford, Melbourne.

Following an intense two-day event, Foodco Group has crowned Muffin Break Penrith and Jamaica Blue Warringah Mall the winners of its tenth annual barista competition.

Held at Foodco’s Centre of Retail Excellence in Sydney from 22 – 23 June, two finalists from each state of Australia were selected to compete in the annual event, out of 340 baristas across Muffin Break bakery cafés, and 166 from Jamaica Blue cafés.

Brexit result delays SCAA unification vote

The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has delayed the vote on its proposed unification with the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) by two weeks after the United Kingdom voted to exit the European Union.

A vote among SCAA members on the proposed unification of their organisation with the SCAE was scheduled to take place from 27 June – 27 July, however those dates have now been moved to 5 July – 5 August.
