The 2018 World AeroPress Championship (WAC) will be held at Commune in Sydney on 17 November.
Following the completion of 140 events across the globe, 61 national champions have emerged. Hosted by Sydney’s Single O, WAC says the competition will be one of its biggest to date.
“We see our events as a rare opportunity to gather coffee-loving people from all over the world and so, in the spirit of our true-blue Aussie hospitality, we’re indulging our competitors and guests with an all-day social affair the day before the competition,” WAC Operations Coordinator Kershia Wong says.
Michelle Johnson and Marcus Boni will emcee the event alongside local DJs. The event will provide barbecued food and Moon Dog will provide free beer.
For the first time, WAC will offer punters a chance to taste competitors’ coffees.
The Australian AeroPress Championship will take place at Seven Seeds in Melbourne on 19 September.
