Toby’s Estate has announced its next Knowledge Talks event, starring Acaia President and Co-Founder Rex Tseng.
Rex will impart his knowledge on the importance of weight technology, its impact on the coffee industry, how to use the scales effectively and correctly on a daily basis, and how to troubleshoot common mistakes baristas make when using the scales.
Rex will also touch on the future of app software and weight technology, and what it means for the coffee industry.
Knowledge Talks will kick off in Sydney on Monday 25 July at Toby’s Estate Warehouse in Alexandria followed by Brisbane to speak at the Verandah Room at The Fox Hotel on Tuesday 26 July.
Melbourne will get the chance to hear Rex speak on Wednesday 27 July at Toby’s Estate in Flinders Lane, with Hobart the last stop on Rex’s busy tour. He will present on Thursday 28 July at Shambles Brewery in Elizabeth Street. Each event will commence at 6pm and conclude at 8pm.
Tickets to the event cost $32.35. To book your place, click here http://bit.ly/29Bti4s
Rex “snuck” into Australia in March to attend the Melbourne International Coffee Expo, and says he immediately “fell in love” with the country and its coffee culture.
“I had no idea that people loved our product so much. We had so much support from Australians in the very beginning, and their input helped shape the product, so this is a great way to thank you,” Rex said. “I can’t wait to meet everyone who uses our product and wants to learn more about it.”
Toby’s Estates Managing Director Cosimo Libardo says inviting industry icons such as Rex to the country is about bringing education to the Australian coffee scene.
“The purpose of Knowledge Talks isn’t necessarily to just inject the latest information into our coffee scene,” Cosimo said. “Rather it’s to pose thought provoking questions which we can then run with, challenge and explore new ideas and concepts around the latest trends.”
All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Las Nubes Daycare and Afterschool-Learning Centre.
The centre supports the education of over 40 children aged between three and 12 in the coffee community of Acatenango. For further information visit: www.lasnubesguate.com/home.html
