Allpress Espresso will be joined by Melbourne roasters on 8 March for an industry event celebrating Rwandan specialty coffee.
In partnership with Melbourne Coffee Merchants (MCM), Allpress Espresso is participating in Supporting Strong Women, a campaign aiming to raise $15,000 by June 2024 to build a childcare centre for the women of Rambagirakawa in Northern Province, Rwanda. This centre will provide a safe environment for working mothers and allow them to contribute to their community’s economic growth.
To support this cause, customers can purchase a bag of the Rwanda Victoria Mukamurenzi coffee from Allpress Espresso’s Australian and New Zealand stores, with profits going towards the construction of the day care centre.
The event is scheduled to host a Q&A with MCM and unique tastings of Rwandan specialty coffee roasted by participating roasters.
According to Allpress Espresso, Rambagirakawa and its members are an example of the impact that can be made when women are given the opportunity, support, and resources to thrive in a male-dominated industry.
Interested parties can join MCM, Allpress Espresso and other Melbourne coffee roasters at Allpress Espresso’s Melbourne roastery at 80 Rupert Street, Collingwood to raise money for this group of women.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite, a pay-what-you-want system, will all profits going towards the Supporting Strong Women campaign.
