ASCA to host Symposium on 29 July

Following the success of the inaugural Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Symposium in 2017, ASCA has announced its 2018 Symposium will return on 29 July.

The Symposium, taking place at Collective Roasting Solutions in Sydney, will focus on improving café business and is a great opportunity for café owners and their staff to learn more about financial growth, improving social media presence, staying happy and healthy in the workplace, planning the perfect menu, and promoting sustainability.

Tickets range from $110 to $1200 and cover the following schedule of events:

9:30am – Arrival and coffee

9:40am to 9:45am – Welcome from Brent Williams, ASCA President

9:45am to 10:30am – “Back to basics: business establishment and growth advice” with Peter Panagiotopoulos, Director at Craft Legal and Nadi Elias, author of Count More Beans

10:30am to 11:30am – “Be your best self: social media marketing” with Chanice Parker, Creative Director at Social Origin and guests

11:30am to 11:45am – Coffee break

11:45am to 12:45pm – “Staying sane: how to address mental health in the workplace” with Georgina Lumb, Soho Coffee Roasters and Sophie Barrett, beyondblue

12:45pm to 1:45pm – Lunch

1:45pm to 2:15pm – “Taste of perfection: menu planning” with Pat Nourse, Gourmet Traveller

2:15pm to 3:15pm – “It’s easy being green: sustainability” with Andrew Peyton, PREP and guests
