Registration is open for the Australian Specialty Coffee Association’s (ASCA) first Judges Workshops, taking place across Australian from 13 July to 18 August.
Each workshop runs for two days and will provide training on all aspects of judging, including sensory analysis training with both foods and liquids, in-depth analysis of rules and regulations, and practical testing.
New South Wales will be the first state to host the workshop, at Specialty Coffee Curators from the 13 to 14 July.
The workshops will head to Veneziano West End in Queensland from 27 to 28 July, then move to St Ali in Melbourne from the 3 to 4 August.
ASCA’s Judges Workshops will finish at Five Senses Northbridge, in Western Australia from 17 to 18 August.
Baristas looking to compete in any discipline are encouraged to attend ASCA’s Judges Workshops to gain a better understanding of the judging process and rules.
Attendees must pass testing in each component to be eligible to judge, and successful participants will receive certification that they are an ASCA-endorsed judge for the 2020 competition season.
