ASCA Western Regionals to be held at Double Shot Coffee Fiesta

The City of Unley in South Australia has announced it will hold its annual Double Shot Coffee Fiesta at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens on 4 November.

“The City of Unley is endorsing South Australia nationally as a coffee destination and breeding ground for new talent,” Acting Unley Mayor Peter Hughes says.

“The newfound appreciation for quality coffee has been made more accessible thanks to Double Shot’s connections with industry favourites.”

The festival will include the Australian Specialty Coffee Association 2019 Western Region Coffee Championships, held in the Unley Town Hall, for the third year.

“It’s a unique opportunity to witness the best in the business demonstrate their incredible coffee knowledge, superb technical skills and artistic talent,” Mayor Peter says.

The Milklab-presented event will also see cafés, roasters, suppliers and baristas converge to present a day of workshops, tastings and family-friendly activities accompanied by food and music.

“Over the past five years we have built up Double Shot to become one of the most respected events on the Australian coffee calendar from both an industry and community level. The event is a showcase for all things coffee and we are proud be showcasing Australia’s greatest coffee talent in Unley,” City of Unley Event Management Specialist Carly Hemus says.

This year, the festival will explore the theme of coffee with a conscience. Event sponsors say Double Shot has massive potential to inspire conversation and ignite support for the local milk industry and its farmers.

Coffee educator Dr Nicole Motteux will lead the stage line-up alongside Adelaide-based roasters Dawn Patrol Coffee, Patio Coffee and Soho coffee.
