The Australian Women in Coffee Association has welcomed a South Australian division.
Georgina Lumb, 2016 Australian AeroPress Champion and Patio Coffee Roasters Training Manager will lead the SA group, which currently comprises of seven members.
All founding members come from different work backgrounds and contribute different experiences as women working within the coffee industry.
“The aim of this group is to support and empower fellow women working in coffee, not only through being a support network, but also furthering education and providing opportunities for growth,” said Georgina.
The group intends to achieve this through a large social media presence, the favoured networking tool of the industry, and by running its first SA event on 6 July.
Maria Paoli, Founding Member and President, first launched the Australian Women in Coffee Association on 11 May. The group will serve as a networking group to recognise the contributions of women in the Australian coffee industry, and supports their continued growth.
