Automatic coffee grinder manufacturer Markibar, distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Barista Group, showcased its new grinder at the World of Coffee Copenhagen in Denmark from 27 to 29 June.
According to Barista Group, the Izaga W grinder, Makibar’s first grinder to feature grind by weight technology with an internal instant scale, gained major traction at the event.
“The grinder from Markibar can guarantee maximum consistency in each shot and speed up the preparation process as there is no need to weigh doses. This means the barista will see a significant improvement in workflow in the coffee shop as it speeds up the coffee making process,” says Barista Group Marketing Manager Joe Chalhoub.
When developing the product, the team at Markibar also focused on eliminating barista adjustment to increase speed and efficiency. This is enabled by its grind-by-weight technology, which helps keep coffee consistent despite a change in grinding point or coffee.
“Baristas can now enjoy an instant dose grind-by-weight product and eliminate any permanent adjustments and inconveniences that are often related to dosing, which is really great in terms of flexibility and productivity,” says Joe.
Another feature the company exhibited at the event was the Izaga W Connect, a technological development that allows the user to connect the grinder to the coffee machine. According to Joe, it helps to create precise and consistent espresso extraction. The Izaga W Connect will be available in Australia from early 2025.
Barista Group aims to supply innovative coffee systems and resources to both the Australian and New Zealand coffee markets by working closely with leading manufacturers on a global scale.
