On January 31, five of Adelaide’s best bartenders will challenge five talented baristas in the ultimate coffee cocktail smackdown at Bank Street Social in Hindley Street, Adelaide.
Mr Black Spirits Co and Milklab will host the event, which will put baristas head to head with the bartenders to see who’s got what it takes to create the best coffee cocktail.
The winning creation will be featured on Bank St Social’s Cocktail Menu during the 2017 Adelaide’s Fringe Festival in February, and represent the state in the national finals.
Tom Baker, Co-founder of Mr Black, says its’ about time Adelaide had an opportunity to celebrate coffee and cocktails in the one room.
“We are the booze company for coffee people, so we’re sitting on both sides of the fence for this one. For us at Mr Black it’s about really great specialty coffee, good products and the top coffee and spirit purists from Adelaide. We’ve always loved this town so we’re really excited about getting more involved here,” Tom says.
MilkLab products will also be available to competitors shape the ultimate coffee cocktail. Milklab Brand Manager Angelo De Blasio of Freedom Foods Group says Adelaide is the ideal choice for the competition considering it’s one of Milklab’s fastest growing markets.
“The café scene here is unbelievable. When we talked about the idea with Mr Black after last year we knew Adelaide would be the perfect place to run the competition. Now with partners like Rio Coffee and Bank St Social on board, we couldn’t be more excited about this South Australian collaboration.”
