Australia’s athletes may be winning gold in Rio, but there’s a new gold medalist doing Canberra’s coffee scene proud.

Bean!Roasters by CosmoreX has won the Grand Champion Coffee and Reserve Champion Coffee Awards at the 2016 Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) Royal Hobart Fine Food Show for the second year running.

The results were announced at a presentation dinner on Friday 5 August. Bean!Roasters by CosmoreX was the only roaster at the event to receive a gold medal.

“It would be an understatement to advise how very pleased we are,” said Director Sciannimanica.

Bean!Roasters by CosmoreX won gold in the Espresso and single origin categories with its Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

It also won gold for its Matador Blend, featured in the Cappuccino and International Style categories.

In total, Bean!Roasters by CosmoreX received 11 medals in total in a field of approximately 250 entires, including four silvers and five bronze medals in various categories.

It’s been a great year thus for for Bean!Roasters by CosmoreX, also winning the 2016 Australian Champion Roaster at this year’s Australian International Coffee Awards at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo.

“Last year we were Australia’s most awarded coffee roaster with 35 medals, and our medal tally so far for 2016 is 42 with one major competition to go for the year,” Attilio said.

“This is a very consistent pattern and a huge congratulations and thank you is extended to and deserved by our in house coffee development, QA, coffee roasting and blending team who through time spent in sheer hard work and persistence, designing, roasting, blending and cupping over and over again, make this happen.”
