Berlin World Coffee Championships announces round one schedule

The 2019 World Coffee Championships will kick off this week at World of Coffee in Berlin, Germany.

The event will host the 2019 World Latte Art, Coffee In Good Spirits (WCIGS), Cup Tasters (WCTC), and Cezve/Ibrik Championships from 6 to 8 June.

Jibbii Little of Jibbijug, Danny Wilson of Ona Coffee, and MJ Kim of Shamble Coffee brewers will represent Australia in the first three championships, respectively.

MJ Kim will compete in WCTC round one from 5:45pm Melbourne time on 6 June.

Jibbi’s preliminary round performance will be livestreamed from 7:25pm Melbourne time on 6 June.

Danny will be on stage at the WCIGS Spirit Bar from 9:45pm Melbourne time with his performance beginning at 9:55pm on 6 June.

The 2019 World Brewers Cup (WBrC) and Barista Championship (WBC) were held in April at the Specialty Coffee Expo in Boston, United States, where Jia Ning Du of China and Jooyeon Jong of Korea took the Championship titles.

Yanina Ferreyra of Project Origin and Matthew Lewin of Ona Coffee represented Australia in the competitions, placing ninth in the WBrC and 11thin the WBC, respectively.

The 2019 World Coffee Roasters Championship will be held at the2019 Taiwan International Coffee Show from 15 to 18 November, where Takumi Sakamoto of Deluca Coffee will represent Australia.
