It’s a family affair at Biga Café Bar where Owner Danny Milky and son Deeb Milky are brewing up a storm for locals.

Danny has been working in the hospitality industry for 20 years, operating snack bars and restaurants. He says the time came to branch out to an industry he’s equally passionate about.
“I decided to get involved in the café industry for a change of direction. I’ve got a lot of experience with the food industry so I also want to combine that knowledge with my passion for food,” he says. “I love this industry because of the atmosphere and the customers. You wouldn’t do it if you didn’t love it.”

Danny has been operating Biga Café Bar for a few months, located on the outskirts of Adelaide’s city centre.

“Biga Café Bar is about creating a warm environment for our customers. We’ve also got a great outdoor area where guests can relax under the veranda – perfect in the summer months,” says Danny.
He describes the interior as “modern and clean”, complete with copper cupboards, white cedar stone tabletops and marble bench tops.

Fitting in with the café’s modern interior is the eye-catching La Cimbali M100, distributed by Coffex Coffee in Australia. This machine won the Best Coffee Related Product at the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe World of Coffee Show in Nice, France on 25 June. The award recognises the technological innovation of the third-generation traditional espresso machine, which is able to make a perfect cappuccino thanks to the Turbosteam Milk4.

With award-winning technology at their fingertips, it’s little wonder Biga Café Bar baristas Daniel Dimasi and Deeb attract crowds of regular customers each morning wanting their caffeine fix.

“Coffee culture has changed so much in the last five years, we have to keep up with the trends – thankfully I’ve got a young vibrant team to help me with that,” says Danny.

The team use Coffex Coffee’s Scuro blend. Like the Italian name suggests, this coffee is a strong, dark roast that brings out a full-bodied Italian espresso.

Biga Café Bar also use Coffex Coffee’s single origins which change every month. “Last month we enjoyed really good Mexican beans, this month we’ve got Guatemalan beans. Coffex Coffee always provides us with a great single origin to serve,” says Danny.

To match their full-bodied blends, Biga Café Bar serves a breakfast and lunch menu. Favourite items include their cajun chicken salad, chilli eggs and big breakfast. “When people walk in the doors they can expect cheerful smiley faces with good food, nice atmosphere, and great coffee,” says Danny.
