Australian roasters have earned significant recognition at the Golden Bean World Series, hosted in Newcastle, New South Wales on 18 February, with Latitude Roasters taking out the Overall Champion award.

The World Series is only open to roasters who have been recognised in regional Golden Bean awards.

United States roaster Kissing Rock Coffee was named runner-up in the Overall Champion category.

Other Australian roasters to perform strongly include Nomad Coffee Group’s private-label roasting brand, Black Bag Roasters, which won a gold medal for Large Franchise Espresso for its ALDI Luxe range, and silver medal in Large Franchise Milk for its ALDI Lazzio Medium.

Walcha Coffee earned three bronze medals, one in each of the Filter, Espresso, and Milk-Based categories it entered, while Pirate Coffee Roasters earned a bronze medal for its R U OK? roast.

Brisbane’s Coffee Mentality also walked away with a string of medals, with its Olfactory blend awarded a medal in the Filter, Espresso, and Milk-Based categories

White Horse Coffee, The Bean Cartel, and Zest Coffee, and were also among roasters to win medals in multiple categories.
