CafeSmart is only three weeks away, and cafés looking to participate can still jump on board.
The event is organised by StreetSmart, a social enterprise that aims to prevent and respond to homelessness in Australia.
CafeSmart is an annual weeklong event that sees profits from coffee sales among participating cafés go towards various projects around Australia that help the fight against homelessness.
The event will run from 1 to 7 August this year in the lead up to Homelessness Week 2023. $1 per coffee sold on Friday 4 August will go towards CafeSmart.
More than 520 cafés across Australia have already signed up for this year’s edition. Participants are encouraged to dress in yellow and decorate their venue to raise awareness for CafeSmart.
People can also donate online any day during the week using QR codes surrounding participating cafés.
