The HG Coffee School in Adelaide will launch its first Professional Development series in March, featuring 2015 World Latte Art Champion (WLAC) Caleb Cha.
The calendar of events is designed to enhance the knowledge and skill of Adelaide’s baristas and enrich the state’s greater coffee community.
To kick start this year’s series of events, HG Coffee School has announced it is collaborating with the former Australian and WLAC champion.
“We are delighted to be a contributing part of the coffee scene in Adelaide and impart this passion upon new baristas numbering in the thousands each year. Our aim for the professional development series is to provide avenues for established baristas and enthusiasts to continue their education,” says Peter Giannakis, Director of HG Coffee School.
Inviting international barista champions is all part of the plan to “up the ante” when it comes to coffee in Adelaide.
This year’s professional development series is set to include more barista masterclasses and other engaging events from coffee bean roasting to espresso machine maintenance, and much more.
Running from 6 to 8 March, baristas will have the opportunity to attend a free lecture on The Physics and Chemistry of Milk, and attend hands-on latte art workshops with Caleb to build their skills for a small fee.
Participants can expect to learn about Caleb’s journey from Australian to World Champion, and the mental fortitude and dedication it takes to become a world class barista.
Exclusive Latte Art for Beginners and Advanced Latte Art Workshops with Caleb will be held on 7 and 8 March at $185 per person.
The three-hour masterclasses will teach basic latte art skills to beginners, and for the Advanced Latte Art Workshop, Caleb will provide expert training in latte art designs.
