The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) Southern Region Barista Guild is in search of judges to participate in the 2016 Victorian Regional Barista Competition Geelong from 16 – 17 July.
The event will be held in Geelong, Victoria, in association with The Harwood Andrews Golden Plate Awards.
No prior competition experience is required to judge the event. The ASCA South Region Barista Guild will support any willing participates who are prepared to donate their time and skills to promote healthy coaching for competing baristas.
Experience at this regional event will provide invaluable skills and experience for judging at the Southern Region (Victoria and Tasmania) Championship, taking place from 17 – 18 September.
The competition is modelled on World Coffee Events, World Barista Championship standards, with a twist. Each competitor will have 12 minutes to prepare and serve four espresso, four cappuccino and four filtered coffee, instead of the traditional signature beverage.
If you would like to participate as a judge, can commit to attending either the 16 or 17 July or both, please contact David Boudrie, Head of ASCA – Southern Region Barista Guild.
