Campos Coffee has announced the launch of its newest single origin, Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Trapiche 7SN Natural.
Purchased from the Hacienda La Esmeralda auction, Campos Coffee Green Bean Buyer Lloyd Thom identified the Trapiche 7SN as being the standout amongst the available natural Geishas tasted by the Campos team.
“It was the most complex and most expressive Geisha on the cupping table and carried all the signature florals, exotic tropical fruits and high-level sweetness we know and love from Hacienda La Esmeralda,” says Lloyd.
Geisha coffee is an ancient variety known for its unique flavour profile of floral and sweet notes.
Trapiche 7SN was harvested by hand from Hacienda La Esmeralda’s Cañas Verdes farm, where it was sorted to ensure the ripest cherries were used – they were slow-dried for 44 days on raised beds before being finished with an additional 14 hours on a concrete patio.
Only 150 bags will be made available in the single origin’s limited run.
