Carimali acquires Italian equipment manufacturer Elektra

Carimali has announced the acquisition of fellow Italian coffee machine manufacturer Elektra.

Elektra dates back to 1947 and is known for its retro and vertically integrated coffee machines. The manufacturer takes credit for being the first to implement the hydraulic unit and solenoid valve, as well as creating the first fully automatic coffee machine in 1984.

Carimali Group Executive President Andrea Doglioni Majer calls Elektra a renowned producer of espresso coffee machines, characterised by craftmanship and high performance, and a a natural fit for the group.

“Elektra’s historic heritage and iconic design, together with Carimali’s technological know-how, will result in a highly promising mix: we enthusiastically greet this arrangement that opens new auspicious scenarios for the group,” Andrea says.

Carimali manufactures fully automatic and traditional espresso machines, specialising in extraction technology and brewing solutions.

“Elektra, a family business built by and around people, salutes Carimali who – I’m confident – will support our company in writing new, important chapters of our history,” Elektra CEO Federico Fregnan says.
