Coffee Masters is a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary global barista tournament designed by Allegra Events and coffee creative duo DunneFrankowski. It was hosted for the first time at The London Coffee Festival 2015.

Allegra Event’s Coffee Masters competition will see baristas from across the globe test their skills in six different challenges that emulate the busy working environment of a professional barista. These disciplines are designed to test a barista’s skill, timing and presentation as they compete head-to-head in each fast-paced battle.

The knockout format of Coffee Masters sees baristas demonstrate their skills in Cupping, Brewing, Latte Art, The Order Challenge, The Signature Drink and, in the event they make it through to the semi-finals, The Espresso Blend round. Baristas will be judged by a panel of world-class coffee specialists. In 2015, Sensory Lab’s Ben Morrow won the inaugural Coffee Masters New York City competition, and only recently won the 2016 London Coffee Masters event.

The New York Coffee Festival is New York’s flagship coffee event, celebrating the city’s burgeoning specialty coffee scene. Now in its second year, the festival will feature live experiences from more than 70 coffee, food and equipment suppliers. Visitors will enjoy endless free coffee tastings, interactive workshops, demonstrations from world-class baristas, delicious street food, intoxicating coffee cocktails, live music, art, and much more.

New to the 2016 event is the Latte Art Experience, which is a new interactive zone dedicated to the highly popular skill of latte art. Featuring some of the world’s best latte artists, this experiential area enables visitors to take part in hands-on workshops and demonstrations to learn the techniques and skills needed to create beautiful latte art. Amateur baristas, coffee connoisseurs and seasoned professionals will have the opportunity to tighten their texturing, perfect their pouring and take part in thrilling throw-downs.

The New York Coffee Festival is also the official launch event of charitable Coffee Week NYC, which promotes the vibrancy of the coffee industry while raising money for clean water and sanitation projects in coffee producing communities.

Fifty per cent of all ticket sales will be donated to Project Waterfall with funds directly entrusted to the NYC-based charity.
