Specialty roaster Coffee Supreme has received B Corp certification, with a score of 85.4.
In a statement, the company said this milestone means it has held the highest social and environmental standards including paying above-market prices to farmers, promoting sustainable farming and community development, and minimising its carbon footprint.
“This B Corp Certification reflects what we’ve always stood for — using coffee as a force for good. It’s not the finish line but recognition of the journey we’ve been on for years. Together, we’ll keep building on this foundation to create even greater impact,” says Andrew Low, Coffee Supreme CEO.
The initiative began in 2022 and was led by Fraser Lovell, Head of Sustainability and NZ Procurement. He says the process evaluated employee, supplier and customer wellbeing, as well as the company’s impact on the environment and wider community.
“I hope it raises the bar for what people expect from coffee businesses,” says Fraser.
“B Corp highlights issues like fair payment across the supply chain, the need for sustainable farming systems, and the importance of treating coffee as something much more than a commodity. It’s about trust, awareness, and accountability — and I hope it encourages more businesses to step up.”
B Corp certification requires a score above 80, and recertification every three years.
“This isn’t just a win for us — it’s a win for everyone. Every cup of Supreme you drink is part of a movement that’s building a future where coffee makes a difference, from farmers to the environment,” Coffee Supreme said.
