Australian roaster Grinders Coffee Roasters will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.
Since opening a single storefront in Lygon Street, Melbourne, in 1962, Grinders Coffee Founder Giancarlo Giusti has watched the Australian coffee culture grow and evolve, including the drinking preferences of Australian consumers.
“I think Australians know more about coffee now than Italians do,” Giancarlo says.
Grinders Coffee is still considered one of Australia’s most trusted coffee brands, supplying its product to cafés, restaurants and leading retailers across Australia. According to the company, it is Australia’s fifth largest coffee roaster.
Three generations on, Grinder Coffee remains true to the heritage established by Giancarlo. With the help of its master roasters and bean hunters, Grinders Coffee is carefully and sustainably sourced and roasted to create a confluence of flavour and aroma. It’s a process Grinders Coffee has mastered over generations and continues to tweak and perfect to taste.
“As a company, we respect where we came from and at every stage of our journey we are listening to people, to our customers, and adapting to always satisfy Australian taste buds,” says Grinders Marketing Manager De Le Cruz.
“We are investing in technology and in sustainability and like to think we’re leading the way in Australia in sustainable coffee through our partnership with Rainforest Alliance and our supply chain operations. We’re on a mission for all our packaging to be 100 per cent recyclable by 2025 and were one of the first business in Australia to introduce compostable coffee capsules last year as a commercial roaster.
“At Grinders, we make coffee uncomplicated. You don’t have to think about it, you know you’re going to get the best quality, ethical coffee from Grinders so you can simply enjoy the company you are with.”
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Grinders is running a consumer promotion through its café partners. Patrons have the opportunity to share online how Grinders Coffee gives them the ‘Grounds for a Good Day’. There is a major $10,000 prize plus daily prizes.
