Grinders Coffee’s original Lygon Street store in Melbourne is set to unveil a new look.
For more than 50 years the Grinders Coffee House has been an iconic part of Lygon Street heritage, first established in 1962.
Thanks to an intensive month-long renovation program, Grinders Coffee’s flagship store will officially open during the week of the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) at a private launch event on 17 March.
Grinders Coffee General Manager Neale Wood says the new-look venue will become the ultimate coffee experience for customers. It will feature state-of-the-art equipment and sleek concrete benches, however, heritage will remain at its heart.
“By replacing the store’s interior walls with glass, the store’s iconic old red coffee roaster will become the centerpiece,” Neale said.
The store’s famous shop front – which dates back to 1962 – was carefully dismantled and relocated to the Grinders Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria. Here, it will continue to tell the unique story behind the brand’s heritage and founder Giancarlo Guisti, and the integral role he has played as the “forefather of Melbourne’s coffee culture”.
Grinders Coffee has built its reputation on roasting and delivering the freshest coffee flavours daily. It has a dedicated team of sales, equipment and service specialists available nationally, along with coffee training professionals and state-of-the-art coffee training facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Grinders Coffee’s flagship store is located at 277 Lygon Street, Carlton.
