Hey You, the order-ahead app, has appointed Shaun Cornelius as the company’s new CEO.
Shaun is the Founder of Choosi, and more recently former OurDeal.com.au CEO. This shift in position coincides with Hey You receiving a further $2 million in funding from existing investors Reinventure and Exto Partners where Shaun will lead the company in its next growth phase.
Shaun, who was part of eBay Australia’s leadership team, has extensive experience leading high-growth Australian digital businesses from startup to exit.
The company will benefit from Shaun’s strong background in business and finance, where he will lead the team to rapidly scale and diversify Hey You’s product offerings, including adding new categories later in 2016.
Company Founder Rebekah Campbell says his appointment is pivotal to the company’s next stage.
“Shaun’s experience will be invaluable to the company as we enter a stage of growth focused on investing in our product roadmap and solidifying our position in the market,” she said.
Shaun joins Hey You as a seasoned entrepreneur. He says he’s excited to work with such a highly-engaged product.
“The market is evolving and there is huge opportunity for Hey You to further expand its footprint. I’m looking forward to working with Rebekah and the team to lead its product vision and strategy into its next stage of growth,” Shaun said.
Since merging Beat the Q, E-Coffee Card and Posse in January 2015, Hey You is now processing 13,000 transactions every business day and is used by 200,000 Australians in over 700 venues.
