IWCAA to host breakfast event in Melbourne

IWCAA

The International Women’s Coffee Alliance Australian Chapter (IWCAA) invites the coffee community to attend its ‘Stronger Together’ breakfast event, held at Axil Coffee Roasters’ Melbourne Central venue on Wednesday 28 September from 8:00am.

During the breakfast, attendants will have the opportunity to listen to a panel discussion about the barriers and challenges women face in all facets of the industry.

IWCAA has invited women leaders and power players to share their individual experiences and provide suggestions on how everyone collectively can provide a fair and equitable coffee industry. This is intended to celebrate the participation of women and encouraging the community to empower women and marginalised individuals.

The panel will be moderated by Same Cup founder, Demelza Jones.

Amongst the panellists are Lucy Stocker, Australian coffee farmer and owner of Crater Mountain Coffee, Andreza Mazarao, Trader for Grupo Farroupilha, Yanina Ferreyra, Green Bean buyer and International Sales of Project Origin, and Lucy Ward, Coffee Buyer of ST. ALi.

Panellists also include Tina Yerkes, CEO of Coffee Quality Institute, Ashleigh Milla-Carpenter, Technician for BrewTech and La Marzocco and Georgia Mackie, Seedlings Café owner.

The IWCAA says this will be an opportunity of a great learning experience and to connect with other women in the industry.

Participants can also enter a raffle to win any of the three different brewers and barista packs and more. All funds collected will go towards future activities to empower more women and marginalised individuals in the industry.
