The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) Australia is hosting several social events around Australia to commemorate International Women’s Day on 8 March.
The Victorian event will take place at Five Senses Coffee in West Melbourne at 6pm, while the New South Wales event will take place at Numero Uno Coffee Roasters in St Peters at 6pm. Finally, the event in Western Australia will take place at Five Senses Coffee in Northbridge at 5pm.
Each event aims to encourage members to reflect on what equity means and how the coffee community can make changes to support and strengthen the coffee industry.
Food and drinks will be provided while the coffee community is encouraged to network and connect.
IWCA Australia has also announced a fundraising campaign to support one of its board members, Demelza Jones, and her husband, who was recently diagnosed with a rare type of Leukemia.
