Jura has announced its partnership with Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, taking place nationally on 26 May.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a fundraising event, which invites friends, families or workmates to come together, share a cup or tea (or coffee) and help those affected by cancer.
Jura is planning to work closely with the Cancer Council team, and its network of retail partners, to deliver the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea message nationally through April and May 2016.
“It was important for us to align with a trusted charity brand, and also one which we could help continue to make a positive impact,” said Jura Australia’s George Liaka-tos. “I don’t think there is one person I know who hasn’t been touched by cancer in some way – it’s a cause that resonates with our team, our retail partners and our cus-tomers.”
Last year the Cancer Council raised more than $13.6 million. This year, it is hoping to recruit 38,000 Australian’s to host events around the country. The Cancer Council has set a fundraising target of $13.8 million for 2016.
“A morning tea is a great excuse to get your family, friends, work colleagues and even community together for a great cause,“ said Cancer Council Australia CEO, Professor Sanchia Aranda. “I encourage everyone to get involved, be it hosting a morning tea, attending an event, purchasing merchandise or simply making a donation.”
While the main event is being held on 26 May, anyone wishing to get involved can register their tea (and coffee) party for any date throughout May or June.
“All funds raised help fund Cancer Council’s life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for cancer patients and their families,” said Sanchia. I would like to take this opportunity to thank JURA for their support of this event.”
