La Marzocco hosted its flagship Out of the Box (OOTB) event for the first time in Leeds, United Kingdom on 2 December.
The event took place at Duke Studios in Leeds and debuted La Marzocco’s new Leva machine, fresh from wowing crowds in Milan and Seoul.
“It’s so exciting to do events where we get to see new faces, mixed in with some familiar ones, and we’re delighted to be hosting our first Northern Out of the Box as we focus on coffee growth throughout the UK,” said Paul Kelly, General Manager at La Marzocco UK and Ireland.
“[We expected] the same energy and excitement from past OOTB events, underlining why we took the move to open our first La Marzocco Local office in Leeds in 2017.”
OOTB is a cultural celebration that brings together the local community through La Marzocco’s passion for amazing coffee.
Six industry panels covered a wide range of topics, including Bike and Brew: Coffee and Cycling Culture, and Conception to Birth: turning passionate ideas into innovative realities, aiming to inspire and engage with coffee professionals and enthusiasts.
This edition of OOTB also played host to the finals of two industry competitions: the Specialty Coffee Association of the United Kingdom Coffee in Good Spirits and Latte Art Championships, as well the European True Artisan Café.
Hands-on experiences included curated cuppings, cocktail masterclasses and roasting demonstrations.
Guests later enjoyed an evening full of music, street food, drinks and prizes at the La Marzocco Christmas After Party.
