La Marzocco has partnered with Meadow Fresh to host a coffee workshop at the Aotearoa Latte Art Championship 2024 in New Zealand on August 3.
The announcement comes as the coffee machine manufacturer and fresh milk supplier prepare to sponsor the Championship as part of a three-year partnership with the New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA).
The Knowledge Lab will take place at The Sapphire Room in Ponsaby Central, Auckland, with sessions being held across the morning and afternoon.
The morning sessions will include a grey roasting experience, milk tastings, tips for café and home baristas, and how to shape and design coffee. The afternoon sessions will follow, including a panel discussion on global trends, and what is possible to steam in terms of milk.
Also taking place on 3 August, the Aotearoa Latte Art Championship will consist of a preliminary round and a final round. After the first round, the top six contenders will compete to determine the winner. The latte artist with the highest score will be crowned the Aotearoa Latte Art Champion 2024.
In addition to this, the Aotearoa Cup Tasters Championship 2024 will also take place at the same location from 3 to 4 August.
The tasting competition will challenge participants to identify differences in coffee by testing their palate, speed, and sensory skills. Over the course of the day, the event will bring together competitors who will participate in a series of triangulation tests.
According to NZSCA, the two competitions attract coffee enthusiasts and professionals from across New Zealand, who come together to discuss and celebrate specialty coffee.
Tickets for the event are free for spectators.
