Lavazza is celebrating its 15thyear as Principle Sponsor of the Italian Film Festival.
The festival began on 11 September and will continue to 24 October.
All Italian Film Festival venues across Australia will have Lavazza coffee-flavoured popcorn available for purchase.
Actress Isabella Giovinazzo, of Italian descent, appeared as a special guest of Lavazza at the Sydney and Melbourne opening nights. Isabella is best known for her five-year stint playing Phoebe Nicholson on Home and Awayand will soon appear in upcoming Channel 10 drama Playing for Keeps.
Antonio Zeccola founded the Italian Film Festival in 2000, after realising that Australia had no film festivals dedicated to Italian cinema.
In its first edition, the festival presented 11 features, five retrospective titles and five shorts across Melbourne and Sydney.
Spurred by audience demand, the second Italian Film Festival expanded nationally to Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.
Lavazza has been the festival’s Principal Sponsor for 15 continuous years.
Last year, the Italian Film Festival attracted over 80,000 people nationally.
