500 stores in Queensland and Victoria are set to be part of one of the biggest menu shake-ups in McCafé history, with Australian customers set to be some of the first in the world to trial the global chain’s new menu items.

Included in the new range of beverages are iced and cold coffees, including a Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with Oat Milk, an Iced Velvet Mocha with Cold Foam, and an Iced Golden Caramel Latte.

The new menu range has also expanded to include Refreshers made with fruit and lemonade, and Energisers made with Red Bull energy drinks.

McCafé originally launched in Australia and has grown to become one of the main purveyors of coffee in the country, with some reports stating it sells about a quarter of all coffees in Australia every day.

Global Category Head – Beverage and Dessert, McDonald’s Corporation, Charlie Newberger, says the trial will influence the future of McCafé’s worldwide menus.

“We’ve been brewing, mixing, and shaking things up for a while,” says Charlie.

“Australia is next up to sip what’s new, becoming the second country in the world to try McDonald’s newest, most refreshing drink line-up – adapted to meet Aussie preferences.

“What we learn here will help shape the future of McDonald’s global beverage strategy. This is a major moment, and Aussies are leading the way.”

The trial begins on 25 February, with the new menu items including:

Iced and Cold Coffee

  • Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with Oat Milk

  • Iced Golden Caramel Latte

  • Iced Velvet Mocha with Cold Foam

  • Choc Coconut Frappé

Refreshers

  • Strawberry Watermelon Refresher

  • Popping Mango Refresher

Crafted Sodas

  • Berry Blast and Sprite

  • Popping Green Apple and Sprite

Energisers

  • Red Bull Peach Boost Energiser

  • Red Bull Dragonberry Energiser

  • Red Bull 250ml
