To mark World Environment Day, Coles has awarded $3.5 million in grants to 11 small- and medium-size businesses as part of its Coles Nature Fund, with Talwali Coffee Roasters in Victoria securing $400,000.
The Indigenous-owned coffee roaster in Hampton Park will use the cash to invest in growing coffee in Victoria using an innovative system powered entirely by renewable energy.
Talwali Coffee Roasters currently sources its green beans from experienced coffee farmers around the world. With the grant, the team want to grow their own beans and aim to invest in local communities and organisations with a positive impact.
Coles has awarded $3.5 million in grants to 11 businesses as part of the latest round of the Coles Nurture Fund. Now in its 11th year, the Fund has awarded more than $40 million in financial support to 119 Australian producers across a wide range of industries.
Coles Group Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer Anna Croft highlighted how this year’s recipients stood out for their forward-thinking projects that drive innovation across the industry.
