MICE2020, WBC unaffected by coronavirus

MICE2020 coronavirus

The 2020 Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) and World Coffee Championships (WCC) are scheduled to proceed as planned from 4 to 7 May.

MICE2020 is hosting the World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup.

MICE2020 organiser Prime Creative Media is closely monitoring developments related to the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

This event is supported by the Victorian State Government, and in addition MICE is working closely with the Department of Home Affairs to receive up-to-date information on health and safety protocols.

Infection rates in Australia are low, and MICE2020 is working alongside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) and World Coffee Events (WCE) to ensure the health and safety of all exhibitors, attendees, and competitors.

Decisions related to COVID-19, or coronavirus, are made in consultation and as a joint initiative with the MICE2020 Executive Management team, the Victorian Government, the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs, the MCEC, WCE, and Public Safety Australia (MICE2020 OH&S contractor).

The MICE website contains further information on how to reduce the spread of infection of communicable diseases (as recommended by the World Health Organisation) and on any current travel restrictions in place.
