To celebrate the AFL Grand Final on 28 September, pie boutique and café group Miss Amelie Gourmet is giving Melburnians the chance to enjoy its award-winning bakes at home during the game.
As part of its delivery service, the family-owned business is sending its pies and wines across the city so footie fans can enjoy their game-day favourites from the comfort of their own home.
“If you’re hosting a Grand Final party or watching the game by yourself, we’ve got you covered at Miss Amelie Gourmet Pies,” says Co-Founder Jim Myers.
The menu features more than 15 different pies, all made with fresh ingredients. Flavours include traditional options such as lamb shank and garlic, beef cheek and red wine, and steak and onion gravy, alongside more contemporary alternatives such as Chinese barbeque pork belly and a good gut pie.
“Our pies are made with absolute health in mind. We ensure our chefs don’t add any sugar, preservatives, artificial colours, flavours or seed oils to our pies, as they can be inflammatory,” says Jim.
“Plus, we source our premium ingredients from local Victorian protein and vegetable suppliers.”
Within its first two years of opening, the pie emporium was awarded Best Gourmet Pie in Australia in the 2022 Official Great Aussie Pie Competition for its slow-cooked Chinese barbecue pork belly flavour.
Entering the café scene during the pandemic, the company has established three cafés in Albury, Beechworth, and Wodonga. It can also be found at the Prahan Market in South Yarra.
