The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) will hold the inaugural New Zealand Coffee in Good Spirits (CIGS) Championship on 4 May, 2019.
CIGS presents baristas and mixologists with the opportunity to create beverages that combine coffee and spirits in a competition format.
At the 2019 New Zealand CIGS Championships, competitors will create a cold coffee cocktail and a warm or hot coffee cocktail for two taste judges, in 10 minutes.
A head judge and technical judge will oversee the performance. The provided espresso machine is compulsory for at least one of the two beverages and will be used in combination with the sponsored alcohol and coffee beans.
