Laneway Learning calls on coffee professionals to teach classes in Melbourne

From the June 2015 issue.

Laneway Learning is calling on people in the coffee industry to put up their hand to teach coffee classes in Melbourne.

Laneway Learning hosts evening classes on almost any topic imaginable for anyone interested in learning a new skill, or sharpening their intellect.

Ordinary people run the informal classes to pass on knowledge from their specialist subject.

“Melbourne is the city of coffee, and we think it's time to have some classes about it,” says Laneway Learning. “We are always hunting for teachers to run classes at Laneway Learning and you could be one of them.”

Laneway Learning is currently calling out to someone in the coffee community to teach what they know about making the perfect brew, latte art, coffee tasting, using coffee in recipes, the plant to cup process or whatever else they think might be of interest.

Laneway Learning started in Melbourne in March 2012 and has since spread to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Auckland and Singapore.

“Laneway Learning is about sharing the knowledge that is out there in the local community, and doing so in a low-key, social setting,” says Tom Ding, Laneway Learning Co-founder. “Even though we have a world of information at our fingertips these days itʼs still nice to learn first-hand from someone who knows a topic inside-out and who lives down the street.”

Classes in Melbourne are currently run in the CBD, Northcote and Brunswick.

Some of the classes offered this week include, Chunky Knitting for Absolute Beginners, Broadway Jazz Dancing, Green Cleaning Like a Pro, Volunteer Ethically and Active Meditation.
