The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced the competitors for the Aotearoa Latte Art Championship, which will take place on 3 August in Ponsaby Central, Auckland.
The competition aims to showcase the artistic and creative skills of competing baristas, and consists of a preliminary round and a final round. Following the first round, the top six contenders will compete to decide the winner. The latte artist with the highest score will then be crowned the Aotearoa Latte Art Champion 2024.
The Aotearoa Latte Art Championship 2024 competitors include:

Sienna Gao of Grey St Kitchen, Hamilton
Bryan Rajeyya of Grey St Kitchen, Hamilton
Takashi Ueno of Agora Cafe, Hamilton
Subin Choi of Independent, Wellington
Throughout the course of the full-day event, coffee machine sponsor La Marzocco and milk sponsor Meadow Fresh will collaborate to host a coffee workshop. The event will be located at same venue, where sessions will be held across the morning and afternoon.
Founded in 2005, the NZSCA aims to represent all shareholders in New Zealand specialty coffee by acknowledging and engaging with a variety of constituents within the sector. In its commitment to promoting the industry, it provides professional development through training, education, and opportunities. Through events such as the Aotearoa Latte Art Championship, it intends to create interest and awareness of specialty coffee to the public.
