The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced a Barista and Judge Workshop will kick start the 2018 NZ competition season.
The workshops will cover technical and sensory aspects of the barista competition and demystify the judging process.
New Zealand’s experienced world accredited judges and World Coffee Event representatives will host the full day course in the lead up to the 2018 Meadow Fresh New Zealand barista Championship from 14 to 15 April. The event will take place at Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre in Wellington.
The workshops will take place in the following locations:
- Auckland: 2 March at Espresso Mechanics from 9am to 4pm
- Wellington: 9 March at Ripe Coffee Roastery from 9am to 4pm
- Christchurch: 11 March at Crafted Coffee Roastery from 9am to 4pm
Entry for the 2018 Meadow Fresh New Zealand barista Championship is now open.
The winner of the national event will travel to Amsterdam in June to compete in the World Barista Championship.
