Pauls Professional has opened entries to a latte art competition, to be judged at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) 2019 from 7 to 9 February, with a $1000 prize via EFTPOS gift cards.

The runner-up will receive $500 worth of EFTPOS gift cards, and third place will receive $250 via EFTPOS gift cards. An Instagram Favourite will also win $250 through EFTPOS gift cards.

Entries are open online via Instagram and in person at MICE.

Instagram entrants must upload a photo to their Instagram page of their most creative free pour latte art design using Pauls or Pauls Professional milk. The image of the milk must be in the image.  To enter, the account must be set to public, and participants must follow and tag @paulsprofessional and also use the hashtags #paulsmilk #paulsprofessional

Competitors entering at MICE must visit the Parmalat Professional stand, #48, and use the provided Pauls Professional milk and coffee to pour their most creative latte art design into the provided Pauls Professional cup. The competitors must then upload an image of their latte art pour to their Instagram page and participants must follow and tag @paulsprofessional and also use the hashtags #paulsmilk #paulsprofessional

The staff on stand will also take a polaroid image of the competitors’ latte art and add this to a photo wall.

Competitor free pour designs will be judged on contrast, symmetry, balance and difficulty of design. Timothy Sweet of San Remo, Tess Presso of Unpressed Tess, and Samuel Taylor of Soul Origin will judge the competition.

Instagram Favourite will be judged by the public, and will be measured by the number of likes, shares, and comments on the uploaded and tagged image.

No stencils, etching or additives such as chocolate may be used or the entry will be deemed invalid.

Entries online and in-person close at 5pm on 8 February. Winners will be announced via Instagram and at MICE on 9 February at 9am.
