Registration is open for the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) 2019 Monin Coffee Chain Challenge, taking place at Fine Foods in Sydney, New South Wales on 9 September.
The Coffee Chain Challenge sees brands from across the country go head-to-head over three rounds to win the Australian Coffee Chain Challenge Champion title.
Each competing brand can put forward a team of four, consisting of front-of-house baristas – with one acting as team captain.
Round one focuses on latte art. Teams have four minutes to produce three different latte art patterns chosen by spinning a latte art wheel.
During round two teams have six minutes to produce and present an espresso-based drink using at least one of Monin’s syrups or sauces.
Lastly, round three sees teams draw a card from a hat containing 20 random drink orders which they must prepare within 10 minuets to a high standard.
To enter, a brand must have at least seven coffee stores operating through a single business or franchise model.
The winning company will be given one-year full usage rights of the Australian Coffee Chain Challenge Champion logo. The logo can be used across external media campaigns as well as international communications.
