Relish Everyday Café

Paul and Angelina Wood are coffee enthuiasts. Both former flight attendants, the couple knows what it takes to please customers in the air, and are now aiming to please their café diners with both feet firmly on the ground.

“It’s a passionate industry, demanding at times but the satisfaction of having our own business is really fulfilling,” Paul says. “I’m always sticking my head out to say hello to customers. It’s all about satisfaction and the chance to build strong customer relations.”

A contemporary setting with white interior, feature orange chandelier and outdoor dining area, Relish everyday Café is open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. The café also offers catering service and hosts private functions.

In a town of 90,000 people, their café is one of the few in the suburban region of Launceston, but Paul says this gives them the opportunity to provide a personal experience for their customers.

The café uses a Wega coffee machine with Di Bella Coffee’s Premium blend and Tea Drop teas and chai. The café has a strong focus on quality coffee, which Paul says equates to 25% of their business. The busy owners have been operating Relish everyday Café for the past two years and also have their eyes set on opening a fish and chip restaurant in the area.

The café offers an array of menu items, with most made on-site, including Relish’s famous corn fritters, with poached eggs, spinach, avocado and bacon.
A stand-out breakfast item is the banana bread with mascarpone, fresh banana and honey. For lunch, they offer the the Moroccan couscous salmon salad fillet with Moroccan seasoning, chick peas and salad greens or the caramelised onion, pumpkin and feta tart.
