Australian dairy company Riverina Fresh has been appointed official milk supplier to the 2020 World Barista Championship (WBC), to be held in Melbourne from 4 to 7 May.

Riverina Fresh says its products and business have developed a strong reputation within the specialty coffee industry, as the milk of choice of leading baristas and coffee roasters.

“It is a huge honour for us to have our milks used in the championships and a reflection of the high regard in which Riverina Fresh milk is held in the specialty coffee industry,” says CEO Rob Collier.

“As a 100 per cent Australian owned, regionally located dairy company based in Wagga Wagga, we are proud to showcase our products and the Riverina region on the world stage at WBC 2020.”

Riverina Fresh milks have been developed over time in close collaboration with experts in coffee.

“They combine smooth, full-bodied flavours and an unmistakably rich mouth feel. The milks complement coffee blends allowing the flavours of the coffee to shine,” Rob says.

“With 98 years of milk production and close collaboration with coffee industry leaders, we believe we have perfected the process of producing consistent milk that complements high quality coffee.”

Riverina Fresh partners with a small group of dedicated dairy farms across the Riverina region, renowned for its diverse, high quality agriculture and food production.

“We believe origin is a huge part of both our product quality and who we are,” Rob says.

“A combination of the conditions in which our milk is farmed, the care our farmers take in daily production and the speed with which it is delivered from farm to bottle ensure our milk is always of a consistent quality.”

The WBC is the preeminent international coffee competition, and this year, it will be held at the 2020 Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE).

The competition focuses on promoting excellence in coffee, advancing the barista profession, and engaging a worldwide audience with an annual championship event that serves as the culmination of local and regional events around the globe.
