Specialty Coffee Association’s flagship event, the Specialty Coffee Expo, is taking place in Seattle, United States from 19 to 22 April.

The Specialty Coffee Expo is designed to be the coffee professional’s one stop shop for everything they need to be succeed in the coffee industry.

The three-day expo will welcome more than 400 exhibitors, an estimated 100,000 visitors, and host the US Coffee Championships events, special exhibits and more.

Some of the notable featured events are the Design Lab, where visitors can explore the best in café, packaging and vessel design; Uppers and Downers, offering craft beers brewed with specialty coffee; and Roaster Village, highlighting coffees produced and roasted by some of the best in the industry. Feature roasters include Lion Bay Coffee, Royal Coffee, Pure Intentions, Airship Coffee, Hub Coffee Roasters, Coffee Planet Roaster, and more.

Australia’s Campos Coffee will also be exhibiting at the expo.

Students can take advantage of learning through three stages of knowledge and skills in each module: Foundation, Intermediate and Professional.

The Coffee Skills Program is the result of more than a year’s worth of collaborative work between professionals from both the American and European specialty coffee communities — involving passionate volunteers from the heritage SCAA’s Pathway Committees and the heritage SCAE’s European Coffee Diploma System Creator groups. For more information on these courses, click here: http://coffeeexpo.org/coffee-skills-program

Three-hour, not-for-credit workshops will also dive deep into specialty coffee topics, and respected industry experts will lecture on topics that inspire, educate and motivate the coffee community.

On the final day of the expo, along with crowning a new US Barista Championship, the SCA will celebrate Earth Day on 22 April and is asking visitors to help reduce waste thanks to more than 40 bins positioned around the expo. To find out how to make a difference on Earth Day, click here.
