Sherwin Djamil crowned Soul Origin National Barista Champion

Soul Origin has crowned Sherwin Djamil as its 2018 National Barista Champion at its annual awards night in Sydney on 18 August.

More than 600 Soul Origin franchise partners, staff and suppliers came together for a gala evening at the Hyatt Regency where the network reflected on its successful year and recognised its top franchise partners, baristas and stores for 2018.

“Since opening its first store in 2011, Soul Origin has experienced exponential growth and this year has been an incredibly exciting one for us,” says Chris Mavris, Soul Origin CEO.

“We have opened another four new stores already this financial year, which now brings us to 99 stores Australia wide.

Across July and August, Soul Origin expanded into Western Australia, held numerous pop up stores across the country and hosted a range of events including the recent Soul Origin National Barista and Latte Art Finals at Martin Place, New South Wales.

Chris says the company’s success is due to its network of talented and hardworking franchise partners and staff.

“Their passion and dedication to excellence does us proud every single day and our National Awards Night is such a wonderful opportunity to recognise this,” he says.

Soul Origin awarded its Sydney Airport T2 store the People’s Choice Awards, its Chadstone Victoria store the No 1 Coffee award and its Canberra Centre store the Franchise of the Year Award.

Outstanding Local Store Marketing went to Macarthur, NSW, and Best Corporate Citizen (Retail Team) went to Plenty Valley, VIC.

Most Improved Franchise was awarded to World Square, NSW, while New Franchisee of the year went to Helensvale, Queensland.

Previously announced Soul Origin 2018 Latte Art Champion Kevin Lim also attended the event.
