The Simonelli Group and the University of Camerino in Italy have launched an International Hub for Coffee Research and Innovation.
Announced on 27 June, Simonelli Group says the International Hub was founded to support the entire global coffee chain in raising the professionalism and quality of espresso and cappuccinos, to encourage their consumption around the world, maximum consumer satisfaction, and help develop the market.
“This is a place where science and technology are at the service of the coffee industry, to achieve new quality goals,” Simonelli Group said in a press statement.
Under the coordination of a specifically formed scientific committee, the centre will provide training for the entire supply chain of operators and outreach activities in relevant international forums.
Open to partners both from the scientific and entrepreneurial world, Simonelli Group says researchers working in the International Hub can utilise the university’s laboratories, and design and production facilities.
The University of Camerino is one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1336. It is one of the most accredited universities with international scientific collaborations in chemistry, physics, biotechnology, and food science.
Simonelli Group has been apart of the professional coffee machine sector for 80 years. It’s two brands, Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino, are now present in 120 countries around the world.
