Single Origin Roasters has launched a new training and education facility in South Brisbane.
The new facility, dubbed ’The O Post’, officially opened on 21 March. It is the coffee roaster’s first flagship venue into Queensland, with three other café operations in New South Wales, including Surry Hills, Sydney CBD, and Roast Works in Botany.
The South Brisbane site will be home to a busy line up of cuppings and events, kicking off with a Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Flavour Wheel Exploration night on 5 May. Private auction cuppings, Geisha cuppings, alternative training sessions, and more, will follow in months to come.
“It all started when two of our Single O Sydney team members had to return to their homes up north. Simultaneously, we had some cracker cafés in the region starting to use our coffee, so we took it as a sign to support our Queensland staff members in their move, get closer to our clients in the region, and create a space to learn and be inspired about coffee,” says Single Origin’s Tim Cameron. “We can’t wait to meet new coffee friends in Brisbane.”
The venue is located located at 29 Merivale St, South Brisbane.
The O Post will also host Open House Fridays for the public from 7.30am – 12pm each week. This is an opportunity for Brisbane coffee lovers to try Single O’s espresso, filter, brew tips, and coffee packs for home.
Events are open to all interested baristas in the region (pending space/availability).
