Australian grinder manufacturer Slingshot has entered a joint venture with Italian coffee machine manufacturer Carimali to to spread its reach to Europe.
“The two brands will continue to operate separately while leveraging on mutual strengths and competences,” Carimali says in a public release.
“Carimali Group will directly operate Slingshot Europe while providing industrial support and product development to the Slingshot team.”
The joint venture follows Carmiali’s recent acquisition of fellow Italian coffee machine manufacturer Elektra. Carimali is led by former Toby’s Estate Managing Director Cosimo libardo.
Slingshot’s grinders feature a patented volumetric self-dosing chamber the company says reduces coffee wastage. The grinder began development in 2015, made its first trade show appearance in 2018 and was widely released in 2019.
