Japanese company Suntory Boss Coffee has announced it will launch its canned iced coffee range in Australia on 1 November.
Each coffee is served in a 237-millilitre recyclable can which contains 135 milligrams of caffeine, slightly less than the average double shot of coffee.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the iconic Suntory Boss Coffee to Australia. The product first hit the Japanese market in 1992 and has been hugely popular there ever since,” says Shana Khan, Inventions Manager at Frucor Suntory.
According to Suntory’s research, 321 million cans of the iced coffee are consumed in Japan every year, which averages to 600 cans per minute.
“We know Aussies love their coffee – in fact three quarters have at least one cup every day and one in four say they can’t survive the day without it – so there’s no doubt that this unique and great tasting chilled coffee will attract the admiration of Australians, as it has the Japanese,” Shana says.
The iced long black and iced latte varieties will be available around the country in convenience stores, petrol stations and selected Woolworths and IGA stores.
